# Course Extensions

Extensions Overview

If you need additional time to complete your course, you have the option to *opt into* a monthly paid extension. You will receive details about pricing at least one month before your course end date, and you can choose whether or not to enroll in the paid extension.

Additionally, if you reach at least 70% progress in your course, you will qualify for a **one-month free extension**. This extension can be applied before your course end date or after opting into a paid extension. The free extension will be added to the end of your course and will activate when your end date arrives.

If you are concerned about completing your course on time and want to explore your options, we recommend reaching out to the advising team at advising@springboard.com.

Free Extension Eligibility

Students who have achieved **70% progress** in their course may qualify for a **one-month free extension**. This extension will be added to the end of your course and will activate when your end date arrives.

Important Notes:

- Accepting the free extension **before your end date** will **not** affect any current payments, or payment plans.
- If you do not complete the course by the end of the free extension, you can either opt for a **monthly paid extension** or cancel your enrollment.

How to Add a Free Extension

1. Navigate to the **"My Account"** page via the menu under your profile.
2. Click the **"Set up free extension"** button. You will not see this button if you do not qualify for the extension.
3. Review the extension details and click **"Yes, I’ll extend"**.
4. You will receive a confirmation, and your mentor and advisor will be notified.

Paid Extension

If you need more time and do not qualify for a free extension, you can opt for a **monthly paid extension** to continue accessing mentor calls and completing your coursework.

Important Notes:

- Mentor rematching is **not guaranteed**, but we will do our best to pair you with the same mentor.
- You will be billed monthly based on your **extension agreement**. Billing will stop once you complete the course.
- If you are on the **Deferred Tuition payment plan**, third-party lending fees will continue to accrue from your cohort start date.
- Please consult your student handbook for other details specific to your course.

How to Add a Paid Extension

1. Navigate to the **"My Account"** page via the menu under your profile.
2. Click the **"Set up a paid extension"** button.
3. Review the extension details and enter your payment information.
4. You will receive a confirmation, and your mentor and advisor will be notified.
