Course Breaks
You have the option to take a break from your course if necessary. Below are the details of how breaks work:
Break Policy:
- For any course: You can take up to 1 pause of 1-2 weeks.
- For a course of any duration, if you are experiencing extenuating circumstances that do not allow you to continue your studies and you need a longer break, please reach out to advising@springboard.com to connect with the advising team about potential options.
How to Schedule a Pause:
- 1-2 Week Pause: Schedule your break directly through your dashboard. If you encounter any issues, email advising@springboard.com with your preferred start date.
Note: There must be at least one month of active course participation between pauses to ensure continued progress in your studies.
What to Expect During the Pause:
Curriculum & Mentorship:
- You will remain matched with your current mentor, but mentor calls will be suspended during the pause.
- On-demand mentor calls cannot be scheduled.
- You will still have access to the curriculum and online community.
Career Services:
- You can still book and attend career coach calls and mock interviews.
- If you have career calls scheduled during your pause that you do not plan to attend, please cancel them via the calendar invite or email our career services team.
Project Submissions:
- You can submit assignments, but grading will take place only after your account is reactivated when you return from the pause. You will need to return to active status in order to have your projects graded and meet any other pending requirements before you apply to complete the course.
End date adjustments:
- Your course end date will be extended by the number of weeks you are on pause.
- The updated end date will only appear after the pause ends.
Payment Details:
- Monthly Payment Plan: Your payments will continue as scheduled; the pause counts toward your total course duration.
- Deferred Tuition Plan: Your course duration continues, and interest will continue to accrue on your loan.
- Paid Extension Plan: Your payments will be paused until you return.
Returning from a pause:
- You will automatically return to the course when the duration of your scheduled pause ends. No additional action is required.
