[Common curriculum-related FAQs](https://help-center.springboard.com/mentor/curriculum?hsLang=en#common-curriculum-related-faqs) # Weekly Points Goal FAQs   **When do the points goals refresh?** Students receive a new point goal each week on Monday and have until Sunday 11:59pm (in their local time zone) in order to reach it.   **Are students required to meet their goal each week?** They are very strongly encouraged to meet their goal each week. Hitting the goal each week means they will finish the course on time and creates a manageable weekly workload.   **How are points earned?** Each item (video, article, project, exercise, etc.) in the curriculum has a point value associated with it. These values are weighted depending on the amount of time and effort that item will take to complete. As they move through the curriculum and mark items as complete, they earn points. FYI: 100 points is equivalent to 1% progress in the course.    **What happens if they don’t reach the weekly goal?** If students don’t reach their goal, the remaining points from that week will be redistributed among the remaining weeks in the month. So they will see the weekly goal go up for the following week.    **What happens if they exceed the weekly goal?** If students exceed the goal, the goals for the rest of the weeks in the month will go down. That adjustment will be reflected on your dashboard the following Monday.    **What are the monthly milestones?**  Monthly milestones correspond to the suggested amount of points to complete in a calendar month in order to stay on track. Even if students miss a weekly points goal, hitting the monthly milestone will ensure they are on track.   **What happens if they don’t reach the monthly milestone?** If students don’t reach the monthly milestone, the remaining points from that month will be redistributed among the remaining months in the course. So the monthly milestones go up for the subsequent months.    **What happens if they exceed the monthly milestone?** If students exceed the monthly milestone, the milestones for the rest of the course will go down. The adjusted milestones goals will be reflected on your dashboard at the end of the last week of the month.   **What if the month ends mid week?** If the calendar month ends mid week, the system will treat the next Sunday as the last day of the month.
