[Finishing your course](https://help-center.springboard.com/mentor/completing-the-course?hsLang=en#finishing-your-course) # Extensions **Note: Please do not share extension information with students.** If they ask, please advise them to reach out to their student advisor for more information about their options. **Extensions** Our career track courses are meant to be completed within the timeline allotted depending on the course (whether that's 6, 7, 9, or 10 months), not including any Springboard-approved breaks.  If students reach their end date and need more time to complete, there is the possibility of an extension of up to **1 month.**  - Extensions are granted on an **exception** and **request** basis only during the last month of the program for students who've completed at least 70% of their course progress. - For students below 70% completion progress, an advising call is required to request an extension. If students do not reach out about more time (either while active or on a free extension), their account will be locked. This means they will be unmatched by their mentor and will not appear on their mentor’s schedule. If the student fails to respond to outreach about their account being locked, their account will be canceled. Students can return to the course after this point, and we will attempt to match them with their mentor prior to their account being locked. If you have questions about a student who is no longer appearing on your dashboard, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your mentor manager. **Paid Extensions**  - If students do not complete the course by the end of the free extension or don't qualify for a free extension, they have the option to cancel or move onto a paid extension. - If they are eligible for the job guarantee, they'll have three months of total extended time to complete the course (including career units, projects, coaching calls, mock interviews, and IDP where applicable) and remain eligible. - If they do not complete the course within three months of total extended time, their job guarantee will be revoked. However, they can still continue on the paid extension and complete the course without it.
